Writer's Blog 2010-01-10

A bad workman always blames his tools. That's the cliché at least. I know a writer is supposed to avoid clichés like plague. Recently though I've discovered that some times tools are to blame.

This is not going to be an epic story. No. This is about pasta. I thought I'd developed a chronic inability to cook pasta. I discovered that it was the oven. I've got a small oven with rings on the top. It takes an age to bring a pan of boiling water to the boil. Now I've got a hob that plugs directly into the wall and suddenly - pasta!

It seemed that on the inefficient hop, with the pasta sitting in water for all that time, meant it just didn't work.

Then I completed the meal with mince, carrots onions and an Iceland cook in sauce. Again this was only a pound but it was very good.

There will be a story here soon. I subscribe to Writing Magazine and have recently not won one of their competitions.

So that'll be up later in the week.
